Poem by Dianne
Welcome to the 71st Class of ’77 45-year reunion!
Charlie and I (and others through the years) always have so many things
to consider when planning our reunions... here are a few...
Black/White, Left/Right
Early to bed or party into the night.
Sit for a full meal, a program, and games or
Have snacks between chats, trying to remember their names.
Some like to dress fancy like prom kings and queens
Some only want to come if they can wear jeans.
Some like it bright – might not need readers to see
Some like it dim to maybe look 33... um...43? ... ok... to look 53.
Some can’t wait for the shuffle, the wobble, the slide
Some are afraid of the next morning’s aches if they tried.
Some want the price low; some want the frills,
Some want it all but who pays the bills?
Some wait to see what their old friends will do,
Some know old friends are great, but so are the new.
Yes, we are different in so many ways,
But we all share some memories from our 71st days.
And if you’re here you know bonds can keep getting stronger.
Some for a year or two, some for much longer
Cheers, my friends!
